What I'm learning about building at scale with limited resources

I've built things before, but I've never built anything of this magnitude.

Roundi is different—not because the software is complex, but because the problem we're solving is massive. Every week I feel the weight of it. Not fear, but responsibility. The responsibility of building what we envision with limited resources, knowing it will take the best people we can find.

Imelda and I are good at building. But a product is more than code. It's brand, marketing, sales, and trust. And the deeper we go, the clearer it becomes: we can't do this alone.

The Problem: You Can't Scale Chaos

When you talk to business owners or walk through Nairobi, you see it immediately.

Yes, delivery is being "solved"—but in ways that don't scale. Businesses want to grow, but you can't scale chaos. You just end up spending more to manage inefficiency.

Systems scale. People compensate.

That's the reality for most product brands right now. They're compensating—spending time, money, and energy patching together delivery solutions that barely hold up under pressure. And when they try to grow? The whole thing falls apart.

The Clarity: What We're Really Building

That clarity led to a line that now captures our entire focus:

"Helping businesses grow by turning deliveries into trust."

Roundi isn't about delivery. It's about growth.

When deliveries become predictable, transparent, and reliable, something shifts. Customers trust the brand more. Entrepreneurs feel confident scaling. The business can actually focus on what matters—creating great products and serving more people.

That's the future we're building toward. Not just better delivery operations, but a foundation for real, sustainable growth.

The Challenge: Helping Businesses Believe

One of our biggest challenges now isn't technical—it's belief.

Helping businesses see that they can scale cleanly. That delivery doesn't have to be chaotic. That there's a better way forward.

Because once they see that future—once they believe it's possible—Roundi makes complete sense.

This is why we're doubling down on content and video next year. Writing has helped me clarify our thinking. These pieces feel like diaries, helping us understand ourselves better so our customers can too.

If we're going to build something this big, we have to help people see the future we're building toward. We have to show them what's possible.

What Comes Next

Building at this scale, with limited resources, means being ruthlessly focused. It means finding the best people who share this vision. It means choosing what not to build as carefully as what we do build.

It also means being honest about what we're learning along the way.

We can't build this alone. And we're not trying to.

We're building with every product brand that trusts us with their deliveries. With every rider who wants to work more efficiently. With every customer who deserves a better experience.

This is more than a platform—it's a vision for how businesses in Kenya (and across Africa) can grow without limits.

And that vision is exactly why Roundi exists: to help product brands deliver with confidence and grow beyond what they thought possible.
